Acorn Area

The Acorn Area from XiGo determines the specific surface of nanoparticles from 200nm up to 100µm dispersed in liquids. Results are delivered within five minutes and without cumbersome sample preparations such as drying and degassing. This is accomplished by nuclear magnetic resonance: Nuclear spins aligned with a static magnetic field become excited by a high frequency impulse and subsequently their relaxation time will be measured. The specific surface is determined via the different relaxation times of free molecules in a liquid and the bound to sample particles molecules.
